Loss Can Lead to Great Wealth

"That much gathers more is true on every plane of existence and
That loss leads to greater loss is equally true." Charles Haanel

If you have ever had your heart broken you know what loss feels like. If you have ever lost a multi-million dollar deal, then you really know what it is like to lose something. Bad habits are also a loss. You lose time and willpower with bad habits. The death of a loved one, the death of a business, the death of a friend, is all loss.
If you use loss to your advantage instead of failure, you can yield something greater than you ever imagined. I have been through all the above listed losses. Yet I am still alive and I chose to see the purpose i n those losses. As a matter of fact, I find it a lot easier to look at loss not as a loss but a gain. I learned the habits I had to change, the lessons I had to learn. I learned my weaknesses and strengths. I learned that overcoming weaknesses makes you stronger, if you are willing to see yourself as weak. If you never look at your habits, great and bad, you always wander why I lost this of failed at that. If I had not known that person, I would have never known what romance was or the love of a mother, etc. If I had not lost several businesses, I would not have learned how to overcome those losses and learn from my mistakes.
It all depends on choice! What you choose to focus on becomes the center of your world. If you choose to see the potential in every situation, you will see endless possibilities. If you choose to see your experiences as loss, you will suffer even greater loss. You never really lose anything, you might misplace your keys or phone, but your experience, what you take away from the experience is a gain. You learn to put your keys in the same place every time, you learn the next business might need more working capital, your learn that you might want to get to know someone more before you date them.
It all boils down to how you choose to look at the situation. If everything is a loss and a failure, then you will cause yourself undue suffering and misery. If you choose to look at loss as a way to gain insight, learn a lesson, and become a better person, then you will create success in all you do.
You must acknowledge that the loss of something hurts, but you must not dwell on it. Instead you must ask, "What did I learn from this situation?" "What did I learn from this person?" "What can I do differently next time in order not to repeat that mistake again?"
Remember, you always have the power to choose your response to any situation.
ACTION STEPS:
1. Pick a situation that ended badly. Write out your thoughts about the situation. If they are negative thoughts, change them to positive thoughts.
2. Pick a bad habit. What makes it bad? What are losing from continuing in that habit? What would you do instead to eliminate this habit? What would you replace it with?
3. Look at how your habit has made you suffer. Now imagine the new habit and how it would eliminate suffering.
4. Look back at the situation you described in #1. Which habits of yours could have changed this from a loss to a win? See your strengths and weaknesses. This is what makes you human. You can learn from loss, bad habits, and suffering. You can also learn from successes, gains, and great habits. Embrace your strengths and weaknesses. You can learn from both. Overcome weaknesses the best you can and you will see yourself gain much.
